For months, I’d been trying to convince my son Jack to hop into his little red wagon and roll down the hill in our backyard.
“It’s fun!” I’d tell him. “It’ll be awesome! You’ll love it!!!”
But he was always too scared.
Yesterday we had some friends over. Some of the older boys were jumping in the wagon and flying down the hill, having the time of their lives!
Jack stood to the side, watching.
Then, to my surprise, I looked over, and Jack was climbing into the wagon and rolling down the hill all by himself!!
I was so proud.
And here’s the thing: this is exactly why it’s important to live out our faith.
Yes, pastors, speakers, and writers all play a crucial role — I mean, that’s pretty much half of what I do with my life, so I’m not downplaying their importance!
But sometimes, nothing is more effective than seeing a friend live out what they believe.
Someone could listen to a hundred sermons, but it doesn’t fully click until they see someone they know actually embody the truth.
A life lived out boldly can often be more inspiring than any sermon.
So, if God is teaching you something, live it out in front of your friends.
Show them faith in action, and watch how it inspires. ❤️
